So I recently decided that I want to go back to school,Acting,Writing...liberal arts per say. My RN degree and security is already accomplished and I yearned for the college lifestyle I feel I missed out on.So I scrambled through my writings in my journal from last year and came across
The New School.And I thought why wait?A mouse click and registration later and I had an appointment to tour my new potential art base.
Next day 10:30am and I am walking the halls,inquiring about student life,studying abroad,and learning exactly which of the 8 main schools in The New School was for me....Side note..it is interesting to see the types of students interested in Liberal Arts as well, the guy from Switzerland who traveled to NYC to weigh his options,the daughter and mother from long island, and the quiet younger girl with a unique style of blue and pink hair. Nevertheless, we are all attracted to this type of lifestyle.
The experience is exactly what I needed to weigh out my options that the world has to offer. Then,I wanted to buy a book from The Strand bookstore(I've been there once and had no clue of the address but I KNEW thats where I needed to be at that moment.)While walking passed a pizza shop Lil Jon and Gary Busey were selling pizzas for the Apprentice. Pictures were taken,video footage,and release forms of my consent were sent to the productions of the show. Randomn yet cute moment. However,it wasnt cute enough to make me want to wait in line.So I continued to walk and 2 blocks later I was at The Strand. Just like Unfaithful lol. Then to Drama Book Store 40 blocks away. And yes I walked.Didnt bother me,all girl Catholic high school bus systems prepared me for such a thing.I can say it was a good day.(I know that quote just made you think of Ice Cube).
